Ness' Fantasy Gold

Just posting a picture of my 'Ness' Fantasy gold'. Its all pink this time, no gold/orange in it at all. I assume it is because this is its second bloom flush? And it is still small?

I also am putting up a picture of what is suppose to be 'Cosmos Legand-2'...it is a fast growing, massive blooming, violet. I need to pot it up badly, it keeps growing in this tiny 2in pot.

But as you can see the blooms are solid single deep blue. No fantasy to it at all. I doubt anyone can identify it from 1 picture, but does it go to solid color sometimes? To much light, not enough light??? Any ideas? And 1 picture of one of the 3 'MySensation' still in full bloom, from over a month ago,and putting out more bloom stalks. Not bad for $4!!!

Ness Fantasy Gold blossom is a bit too pale to my comfort and the leaves also supposed to be darker.. it is a sport but not a bad sport. Cosmos Legend is a total wash. Chuck it or use it as a gift. I bought a baby this spring - and it also bloomed without a fantasy... off it went.

Rosie - we need plants for gifts.

Lets stroke the leaves - and tell it to be a good blooming plant for our friends. It is our ambassador!

It took me about 15 years to train a friend to keep them alive - and use the labels. She just loved them without the names.

    My life is not wasted!

PoohBear, Wow, I misunderstood and thought you were a beginner. If those are your photos, the plants are gorgeous. I don't see Fantasy Gold, I see a green chimera. I tried Fantasy Gold, it was pink with a bit of mottling. The blue Cosmos has fantasy in your photo on my computer. You can pot it up while it is blooming. Joanne

hi yes those are my violets. . The 'Ness Gold Fantasy' is the hot pink frilly one. Thus, where is my gold or orange in the blooms? The 'green chimera' is MySensation. Not a chimera...I just saw it one day at Lowes and snatched it up..THEN found out it is a rare one to get, and it cost the price you see in the next line!I

I bought it at Lowes for $4! Not the $18 plus $11 shipping for a 'plug size' one at 'MyViolets.com', I have 4 of them now! At $4 a piece:) I have a post about it on here, lots of follow ups.

The ALL purple/blue one in the front is 'Cosmos legend-2'! No fantasy on it at all...got it from 'JacksViolets' on EBay.....told him it isnt Cosmos, he promised to send me a new one.....NOPE! A total liar and a thief!!! Took my money, and wont keep his word. Avoid him!!!!. He has blocked me from emailing him again, and from buying from him again. Stupid and a liar!

The 'fantasy' bloom in the background is 'Gee Pee'...that is a faded bloom, it is now just starting a new round of bloom stems, it is a wonderful fantasy!!! Hate that name, got it on EBay, a 4in pot plant for only $5.25..., I was shocked I got it that low. From CVViolety. They are great sellers, when you 'complain' about a problem they don't block you from buying from them again, or emailing them again, they actually help you out! Unlike 99% of other violet sellers on EBay.

Including JacksViolets!! Why are violet sellers SO thin skinned? You say 1 problem happened to a plant that you paid good money for,...and they cut you off at the knees! WHY? These sellers are VERY thin skinned, and dumb, because they loose a lot of business that way.

All my violets are under AeroGrow lights, i JUST got new bulbs for all 3 gardens, and now the violets are already growing and putting out bloom stems way down below...after only 1 week with new bulbs! I have more violets, and new violets that just came in 3 days ago, they are in other gardens. But I posted the few blooms I had questions about, especially Ness Fantasy Gold, i am hoping it will put out gold/orange in later blooms. This was its FIRST blooms.

I have a Ness Antique Red in bloom now, nothing great, might throw it out or give it to someone. Nothing great about it. Also young, but blooms like crazy. And getting new blooms on one called Twinkle Twirl,it is a nice fantasy...the bloom stems are just starting to show on the plant,so got a few weeks to go,till they open.

Here I am six years after this thread started, came here on a search for "Ness Fantasy Gold." I got mine from Appalachian Violets a few months ago - waiting for it to have its first bloom and crossing my fingers that it's going to have some yellow/gold! I guess I should have read this thread before buying. But a nice pink will be OK too - I'm new to this. :)
