Okay, thought you was ahead, so you good, I will now stand down.
It looks kind of corny to me, want to go see Fast and Furious
  • 13 years ago
It's 2020 here right now Angela.
BTW-thanks all for putting up with my headache in doing something that should be simple but sometimes I do not make any sense in knowing what I want. Bobbi-thanks for the ideas.
So actually I will have to go to bed first. Oh wow.
@Angela...Do you know any good condo deals down there? At some point, want to come down there to see the sights.. would like to rent a condo vs. stay in hotels and/or an attraction area.
@Bobbi...add an occassional "Rooaaarr" in there as well!!
@Angela..So funny u said that..about not making sense..I often feel that way..trouble identifying and expressing what I mean/want appropriately/understandably at times.
    Angela, it was a pleasure!

Jayme, I haven't gone on a vacation in 20 years! I envy you!
OMG, is anyone listening to the news? more strong storms and tornado warnings in oklahoma right now. many people trying to get away and are trapped on roads with no where to go.
Good grief, just walked by my computer and 20 emails already.

Jayme, you are very sweet but I just put it down to OLLD AGE. Double the number of years you have been on earth add all the extra things you will learn in that time and the experiences you will have, allow for the mellowing age brings so you can pick the really important things and by then I will have gone and you can take over.

Angela wins the Head Trouble Maker title - after all aren't the naughty kids sent to bed first!!! Teehee.

I was just reading some comments on facebook from friends in OK. Crazy weather...
Oh, yikes Mo, hope you are all safe.
Jayme-will you be doing Disney which will put you in Orlando area, Key West Area. that will make a huge difference.
Bobbi-you can come stay with me, I will put you up just to see you in action going at Roo. I am so getting boot from here for this.
Angela - I hereby bestow on you the Royal Order of the Wooden Spoon.

    Chief Stirrer in other words.
Hope those poor people in OK stay safe!!

@Angela...near Disney- or close...gonna take our son
  • 13 years ago
Just been cruising the OK newspapers - I did not know they can plot the destruction path of a tornado. I thought they were totally unpredictable. The flash flooding seems to be causing more problems at the moment.

Robin - there were Tweets from emergency service personnel trying to reach accidents to help people but they are totally stuck with the flooding and debris. That would be so gut-wrenching.
Ok, I am four hours away but when you decide let me know and I will find out everything for you. I will need to know time frame, how long you plan on staying and what parks and where to stay, will you have a car, stuff like that.
@Angela...God Bless u! I am open to staying an hour or so away from Orlando..renting car, etc...and exploring other areas too..Not just Disney. We prob. would not do this until next fall/winter. Hoping to get a Condo or something for a week and drive to and fro...don't know the best way to go..but also don't want to get stuck in all Disney all the time...I have seen some info on some beautiful state parks with a lot of activities too! Would be awesome to have a contact in FLA..and a friend to see too!
I'm watching the Mexico soccer game - Night all! Sweet dreams.
@Bobbi-They play Jamaica next week I think.
@Jayme-it will be my pleasure. I learned a few things from a few trips. There are advantage's/disadvantages from staying on the parks but to me it was just as better to stay further away and then drive in. The hotels will be cheaper the farther away you are. Also, most of the time you will be tired at the end of the day so the hotel need not be five star. One year, did Bush Garden and Sea World in two days and that was a lot of fun. It is almost impossible to do all the parks in one trip so just decide and that will make it easier. this last time I actually just did Hotel.com and got a 5 star for a real cheap price.

@Angela...good ideas...I may do some researching and then ask u if you know anything about the areas, etc..Want a set base for 7-10 days...thought a condo may work...my sister did that in Hawaii and got a great deal. Would not have to be fancy either..like u mentioned...a place to crash after a long day...we want to explore!!
@Bobbi...I have not gone anywhere fun in a long time either...No fun trips in most of my adult life....Once in the 90's to see my grandparents (just family visiting)...then...all trips to see my husband's family...so this time is OURS!! And if u want to come see me in ND...come on up...We have a big room in our finished basement!! We could wreak some havoc up here!

Sorry..that sounded bad.."just family visiting"...dumb comment....I got to see my Grandmother Marie...who was ill with lung disease...a young Joan Crawford lookalike...just a beautiful woman...and my Grandfather Richard..I didn't see my Grandmother alive after that. I had a feeling I needed to make that trip...it was my first airline trip..I was 34 years old. I couldn't afford it..but something told me to go, and I did. (p.s. Joan Crawford was gorgeous before the studios invented that harsh look).

They have good condo rentals, or my sister did timeshare also.
Thx Angela...maybe this year, no set plans yet, still exploring!! Thanks for any and all suggestions and help...much appreciated...maybe we could hook up and meet...would be lots of fun!!

Hi Auntie Eztia...How r u? I hope Sir David is doing well, wish I were near him to go over and check on him and drive him into insanity with my medical suggestions...Miss him..
I go do yard work and y'all go to town! Lol!

Thanks all for the suggestions. I just spent 4 hours mowing a yard full of knee-high dandelions. We have GOT to do something!!! The house next door is a rental, and their yard is just as bad! I'm thinking about spaying the dandelions just to give the grass a fighting chance, but given the neighbours yard is full of weeds, I think I'm fighting a losing battle.
    *spraying
Auntie Ez and Jayme... I hope Mr. Ironwood is doing well also. It's not the same around here without him. It might be a good thing we all don't live closer though... we'd drive him bonkers with our fussing!
Robin -- I hate dandelions. Get your lawn good and healthy and the dandelions won't have a chance. My ex-neighbour had a yard full. I used Green Drop... until I had a healthy, thick lawn and only a weed here and there that was easy to dispose of.

I had a frustrating afternoon putting together the bistro table I bought at Lowe's. Went together easily enough, but it had a wobble that took me half an hour to work out. Nothing worse than a wobbly table.

My biggest issue is tree seedlings invading all my beds...was out again tonight with round up...I hate using chemicals too...dagnabbit...try not to!

One day I was out with the roundup, and some woman across the street in the park with her kid was giving me all these nasty looks and dragging her kid away like I was spraying liquid plague or something. I rarely used it unless I had to, but I had a flower bed full of chickweed I could not get rid of. I wanted to chase her down the street with my RoundUp bottle. (hah!)
I am out for the night. I have been here driving myself crazy looking at drum pendants.
@kimdee - I sprayed my back area where the raised beds are going and a neighbour made a comment about pollution. Ugh. I feel bad enough but that space was too much for the vinegar bottle.
@jayme - thank you for your words. I know there was a lot going on, it just made me sad that her family wasn't with her. They were giving her morphine despite her severe hypotension, but I wish her family would have been holding her hand instead of a stranger paramedic.
I use chemicals very sparingly...and I recycle....don't get nuts with it or use it every year even.
@Robin...Thank GOD...a paramedic WAS there!! Just think ...if not..no one would have been there....It made a difference, I have no doubts!!
And even if a roomful of people were there, and one held her hand or reassured her while all the chaos was taking place...it mattered...it was needed and was as important as all the other actions others were doing.
Agreed, Jayme. Robin, I'm sure you made a lot of difference just by being there....

That's my worst fear... Being seriously ill or dying in a hospital somewhere and being all alone.
Often in critical situations it gets chaotic..in much of my experience..since I began critical care/surgical trauma nursing..including the ER.. Often, someone is there emotionally supporting the patient.....it all matters..whoever it may be...licensed, or unlicensed staff, family, friends, clergy, support staff...Working as a team to get needs met is crucial!!
    Thanks all.

It's just been an all round rotten 24 hours. My partner just requested to be moved to a different car and now I just found out my grandma is in the hospital...

I think I need to go to bed and wait for tomorrow. It's gotta get better, right?
I love how caring our group is..so many good people!! Gdnight y'all...Sleep well, dream beautifully...I hope I get a dream visit by someone I miss and love who has passed on..I love those dreams. xoxoxoxo
  • 13 years ago
@Robin..I was posting at the same time u were...thinking of my Grandma...
....I can tell u..YES, it will get better, and stick by Grandma and treasure every second of your time together. Thinking of u..and hope all is well as soon as possible.
Tomorrow will be better. Sleep well and good thoughts for your grandma, Robin. xoxo
