hoya never bloomed?

A cutting I grew from my sister's hoya several years ago has never bloomed... yet she says her whole house is fragrant from all the blooms on her's .. almost unpleasant after awhile! Hers she has attached to a wall like a vine & it even puts out 'roots' that adhere to the wall! My big plant drapes down from the big pot hanging from the ceiling & looks almost artificial it is so bright & shiny & puts out shoots occasionally so I know it is alive... & not 'petrified' - but nary a bloom!

What are the differences between your sister's environment and yours in terms of light brightness, temperature, and humidity? It sounds like humidity might be key if your sister's hoya is actually attaching to the walls!

Also, have you fertilized your hoya? It's not the greatest time of year to expect blooms (unless you're south of the equator!), but you can prep your hoya for spring by giving it a little light fertilizer over the winter. I've started using Foliage Pro. Toward spring, I'll start using Bloom Pro. It might seem expensive, but one drop in a quart of water will do it.

Thanks, I started using Foliage Pro on the advice of members of this site. I have not used the Bloom Pro, so I will order some. Thanks for the advice!
