I have two 4 ft. grow light fixtures that need new bulbs. My understanding of artificial lighting for plants is pretty below basic. I understand 6,500 kelvin is for vegetative growth and 3.000 is for yield or blooms. I am just growing houseplants, with a variety of mostly foliage plants and succulents. Ficus and ferns, haworthias, coleus, schefflera, arrowhead and grape ivy vine. Succulent dish gardens. An orchid. etc. Being in Western Washington, the majority of my plants are grown for the foliage. Am I to use the same kelvin amount for all 4 bulbs, can they be mixed. If I cannot mix them, my feeling is I enjoy good strong attractive growth, over flowers. (Western WA. = inadequate light for plants that want full light) I had 6.500 kelvin t5 bulbs, and plants that flower easily did. Orchids and succulents flowered better in a southern window. Not sure if they could have under lights. As my plants are all different sizes, they don't all get the ideal distance from the light to the plant.

I really don't feel my knowledge is adequate to make the wisest decision. I have been reading and learning, but it's times like these I really love this forum. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks.
