We made a pear pie using the Giant turnbull pear. It is a hard very crisp semitart mildly sweet pear that holds form and crunch after baking.

I agree John, I will be making a key lime pie for thanksgiving.

I just harvested a couple of lemons and froze the juice for the pie. Right now things are crazy in my house so I will try it after Thanksgiving. I have not forgotten to make it and let you know how it turns out. Meringue is something I have not done before so I feel a little bit intimidated making it. lol.

Does somebody here has a nice meringue pie recipe? I have three nice meyer lemons. Enough for a pie? Got those yesterday at colosantis. this is the first time I see this color. For comparison a mandarine next to them

Just finished my two pies for the Thanksgiving invite tomorrow. They LOOK good; but in my opinion as a chef, they are horrible; but they will taste wonderful. It is my Mother's recipe and will be excellent for anyone who actually knows how to make a pie.
