I like it! I'm just always afraid to wrap vines around trellises. I always break them...which is why most of my hoyas are growing wild :-P

I like it too, quite handsome. I didn't realize these things had a name. I sometimes make my own w/ hanger wire. I grow most Hoyas small & try to keep them contained.

I love the wire coat hanger idea. I use soldering wire because it is easy to bend and reshape. Here is Hoya parvifolia.

I have bamboo trellises now, but in the past I've used dowels in a square or triangle shape joined with a hot glue gun. My hoyas aren't crazy about being trellised in the cold months - the ends dry up and break off. This year I'm putting a plastic bag over the trellised ones with a cup of water under the bag with them, and I give them a spray of water every day. Not enclosed in the bag, just more humidity. Seems to be helping a lot.
