I respectfully disagree.

Yellow would normally be lack of light or underwatering.

That brown leaf doesn’t look like one that was shed due to age.

The op even stated they started watering it more thinking it wasn’t getting enough.

Thanks Dave. It dropped it’s first leaf about two weeks after I brought it home and I had not watered it in that time. I then submerged the pot in water until bubbles stopped appearing and moved it to a slightly sunnier location. Still dropping leaves though
