Is this a half baked solution or not?

I’m nearing the end of my first bathroom remodel. (Thankfully!)

I have a problem with the tile on my shower. The corner round of the drywall exceeds the silver moulding of the tile. My contractor‘s solution is to hammer in the corner round and re plaster. I said that the hammering will affect the integeity of the tile next to it and that the plaster will crack. (This has happened in other parts of the bathroom.)

Does my contractor have have a good solution?I know it’s cheap and easy but nothing about this project is cheap. I’m afraid that this is a half baked approach that is a temporary fix that I will pay for later. Am I wrong?

Any other solution ideas?

Thanks in advance.
