Mount the tv, and get a bigger entertainment center to put underneath it..

I would get a chest drawer large with 6 drawers to put the TV on top but I would mount the TV on the wall so that you can have a nice display of books and a plant on the chest without interfering with the screen

HI - Ikea has several TV consoles etc. that fit in that price range . How about putting something on the wall just up to the same height as the door openings . You could use some weathered wood or a finer wood with a nice grain or a wallpaper in a modern pattern or some cultured stone or brick . This would add some texture and interest to the room. If you do this have something in a dark tone that will help hide the TV a bit , then add some pictures over and around The TV.

I think your fireplace wall is an accent color, is that right? So the wall behind the tv you should wall paper it with sth that matches or contrasts with that wall opposite. Go to Ikea and choose a hanging entertainment console. Put your Tv on the console and put some hanging shelves to the right side. That could be a great focal point and not too expensive to decorate. ;-)

Buy a 55-60 inch TV. To fill wall space also paint. 2 shades. Darker than you have on walls now . Hard to fill space above TV and make it. Look right. You could put 2 shelves in dark or black wood above. Make one on bottom longer as long as TV Stand. Place large decor pots in color on them. not to too much.

TV at Costco not expensive. Try Ikea media center in. Wood long and low. Also Target.
