I would go with a barn red Sherman Williams has a great one its called barn red. The red would pop against the white and the natural colors in the yard.

I would do a darker blue, so it wouldnt stand out so much

From a Feng Shui point of view, it should be red.

I think either blue or red would be great, some help huh, lol. Seriously you could pick either color, and then work with that color thought the rest of your porch. You have a lot of porch, so that should be fun. Blue gives you that cool relaxing feel, but red is dynamic and striking! You might go with cool and blue until you have more landscaping and greenery. Just a thought, have fun, there's always more paint!

In addition to the red door, I would beef up the columns supporting the porch roof, so they relate in size to the vertical moldings in between the windows on the far right room.

Thank you Cathy for explaining FengShui to me. You have me swaying to the red side now. Benjamin Moore's site does not have heritage red. Do you think they quit carrying that shade? Red is just too predictable!

Heritage Red is part of their exterior collection. Go to the paint store and get the chip. It is almost impossible to pick a paint color on a computer screen. Every computer renders that color differently. Also, the color will read differently on the door, being affected by the lighting, overhang of porch roof, etc. Best to always get a sample can to test it out. In addition to the red door, you might want to bring mor color onto the porch in the way of a yellow bench, cushions, and flowers. I'm all for whimsy, and something unexpecter, but I like to keep the energy flowing in the right direction. Best, Cathy
