Adenium Multiflorum Question

Hi forum members. Back in January I got an Adenium Multiflorum. Of course it was shipped bare root. It had a few leaves on it and a bud or two which of course dropped. During this past Summer it leafed out some on the very tips of the branches only. Not a whole lot. Maybe 6-8 leaves total. Now that the weather has turned those leaves have fallen of but I see something down much further on the trunk closer to the base.

The days here a week or so ago were unseasonably warm even for San Diego, but no where near as hot as it was during the Summer. Lately, the days have been in the high 60's to low 70's. The nights have been pretty cold though, mostly in the mid 50's, at times dipping down into the 40's.

It is my understanding that A. Multiflorum get flowers before they get leaves. Even so, this is the wrong time of year for that, right? So is this budding leaves this late? Flowers?

I took these photos yesterday afternoon. Just brought all of the Adenium inside. Thanks for any insight or information anyone can offer.

Tyler
