Variegated cultivars offspring will lack variegation if rooted from leaves

This type with so much variegation most likely will rot. But if it does root, it will depend on what part of the stem the rhizome starts from. Could be all white which will die shortly or all green which will be regular trifasciata. In some very rare cases it will be variegated as well.

Now I understand why I have failed with leaf cuttings! I also noticed deterioration of the plant after buying it. I tried to remove rotten rhizomes, replant each segment in its own pot, and take leaf cuttings if the roots have died, but none of the cuttings and rhizomes has survived.

Don't feel too bad. This is one of the hardest Sans out there. I had several that died for me. Currently the one I have is starting to grow nicely. They do better with no water than water. I know, it doesn't sound so good. Got to watch how little to water.

Didn't think about the rotting possibility. It's been a couple weeks, so I'll just keep crossing my fingers for it. I actually don't have a trifasciata, so at least if this is successful, I'll be getting a new addition out of the mix. Thanks for the input!

Stush I'm glad to hear you say that BS is difficult to grow. Shoot you see it at all the box stores and I was having a bad time with mine. Now, after some years, they seem to be doing some better. I don't know what the difference is but I'm not complaining.
