Exterior Help Please

Have posted a different picture of this before. Possibly looking at buying this home but am having a hard time getting over the monochromatic exterior. Wondering with new siding and shutters if we could make it look more like a Dutch colonial style? ♀️ any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Right now the most prominent feature of your home is the clipped gable roof.

For a Dutch Colonial, the most prominent feature is a Gambrel roof (see below for example).

If you are only changing the siding and the shutter colors/style, I don't think it will transform the house into a Dutch Colonial. However, it could then be a house whose exterior you like. Work with what you have. Possibly consult with an architect for ideas to see where you could bring this home you like to it's full potential.

Some of the architects right on this board work remotely and will give you an honest assessment of this home's possibilities.

Edit: I do think different colors would help and change the landscaping to something that is more welcoming. Right now it is all lined up against the house.
