Temporary light fixture ideas?

Has anyone come up with a clever way to dress up temporary bare-bulb 99-cent porcelain fixtures? Or found a [source for] great inexpensive fixture with a shade that works for temporary? We are building a new contemporary/modern home, and expect it to take a good long while before we are putting in any 'decorative' fixtures. Sadly for me, I have expensive taste. In our current house, we had bare bulbs or similar for nearly 10 years in some spots.

Frustratingly, decent looking clip on shades for ceiling lights seem pretty much impossible to find. I am tempted to try and make something myself.

Any ideas welcome! :)

only one, but still check it out. don't know your taste of course, or the dimensions you need..I do find it lovely..

Thanks, Sherry! I think my tastes run to the more eclectic. But it may be possible to find something that works for me that is more functional than the bare bulb. Aprilneverends, that is cute! Maybe I should think about lights that would take an interesting fitter such as that. :)

Casey, I was thinking $7.88. No matter the style, it is a throw away when you find what you want. At least not bare bulb and the box would be installed ready to change out. Changing out is easy. Installing the wiring and box is not. If you go with the bare bulb fixture, why not use the Edison bulbs?
