This kerrii is gorgeous and super easy

A) do you know what its called? because its beautiful!

B) I lost albo marginata, right after i ordered it i started hearing stories so i was being careful.

it starts with the edges turning brown (the leaf almost becomes room temp) and no mater what you do it spreads through the leaf and into the stem.

i had a little success when the first brown spot happened, i trimmed the affected area and increased airflow in the room. i moved it between Norma and KQ because i heard kerri like similar conditions and it stabilized but then it started again. it was a small plant so i took a small cutting but that just seemed to speed up the rot/wilt and now both the main plant and the cutting are gone. the carnosa right next to them seem fine with norma as i mentioned above, even putting out new growth

Hoya kerrii medio picta. I just call her reverse varie kerrii lol....yeah, the other varie kerrii is difficult. Mine dont look so good either....the splash kerrii is easy too.

yeah, thankfully none of the other hoya got whatever this is and if it werent for the fact ive heard stories about this happening id be a little worried about omens lol

the reason i havent been around for a few weeks is my fiance came to town.... aaand kerri, her 2nd favorite and with its iconic heart shaped leaves. keels over in the most dramatic fashion

but i will definantly look into picta & splash, have you had experience with the fuzzy leaf variety?

I do have a fuzzy kerrii but its leaves dont have the perfect heart shape like the others. It came from ric so it could be his fuzzy kerrii hybrid. Bought one from ric and one from beastlyflowers and they look the same....love all the kerriis so would like to find reg fuzzy kerrii soon.

Here's my plain green Kerrii. Grows like crazy, Hydro in a west window, where it bloomed. Also not hairy leafed, just plain.

I too have had trouble growing several of the Kerrii variegates, the inner varieg. & the Alba (white edged).

Have grown its parent plant in bathroom west window, probably 15 yrs. or so.

This one is another vigorous grower. It was growing up a tree. Had to take it down because we got a little snow down here. Tiny sun damage but a good grower.

Interesting set-up for the hydro. Is that a cup inside the vase? Are there stones in the cup? Do the roots then grow down into the vase?

My set up is a small netted cup filled w/ Leca stones (fired porous balls of clay). The roots grow down thru the stones into the water below, as you suggested. I ignore the algae, just add small charcoal chips from time to time.

Thanks for all the great info. I may give it a go! I have a couple of kerrii that are just stagnant and not giving me any joy. I may experiment with them.
