Entry Lighting Suggestion

We have an open concept floorpan and need to select an entry light. To the right of the entry is the dining that is wrought iron while the kitchen has pendants that are satin/brushed nickel with mercury glass shades. There is quite a bit of black in the shades to go with the dining light and we have black stainless appliances. Further away is the breakfast area with a light that is all satin/brushed nickel. What would you do for the entry? Door hardware is brushed nickel.

9ft ceiling, double entry doors - 91" total entry space with half wall to dining room. Dining light is Currey & Co Stillwater, Kitchen pendants are Currey & Co Venosa. Doors are white with glass/design. Half wall is white trim and SW Alpaca. Not sure what category these would fall under - transitional? The light store suggested the C&C Buckminster but I didn't think it was big enough, and it has bronze (which our barstools are) versus the black that is on the Stillwater. Thanks!

91” doesn’t help me help you…so take the length and width of the space, add together and convert to inches. So, 9’ + 10’ = 19”..a 19 inch chandy is perfect.

You are a girl after my own heart…C & C are my favorite fixtures. Pricey, but gorgeous. Guess what, I have this one over my dining table?…We are in a huge oyster area…very symbolic.

So, love the Venosa with the shells, but, agree, I am not lovin’ the suggested one either. What about this C & C light?

I chose this Visual Comfort lantern for my entry light. However, the lights are not close. My stairway is opposite the front door, but goes down to a lower level.

91" of space? Can't visualize that.

Anyhow, one needs to make a stand on metal finishes. I'd let kitchen & breakfast nook stay brushed nickel as they are, and have the entry match the dining room finish of wrought iron.

I'd also keep in mind that not every room needs a statement pendant and that often unobtrusive recessed lighting, possibly joined by table lamps, works better in an entry than a pendant.

I would suggest you post photos for recommendations which are more likely to work in the space.

Elle: what do you mean? OP posted her two fixtures and the one recommended to her at the lighting store which she isn’t crazy about.

Hi All, thank you for comments so far and suggestions. I should add I don't like seeing light bulbs, so the candelabra type or edison are most likely never going to be loved enough to install. Here are some pictures, sorry about the light....time of day is one issue and well, so is not having anything but the single lightbulb for the entry - LOL. Feel free to add suggestions for neutral rugs too - that is on the list, like for entry would you do a round or rectangle - if latter a 4x6 is what I am thinking. For the entry area the dimensions are as follows: Wall with mirror - 72inches; opposite half wall is 53 inches and the width between the walls is 91 inches. The light fixture is about 56 inches so just past the half wall. The doors open to 36 inches. And ceiling is 9ft.

As for metals, the entry hardware is brushed nickel so I think I could go either way with wrought iron or BN. Currey and Company came out with another oyster light in a different metal finish - I seriously thought about getting it and darkening the metal but then I feel like it is oyster shell overkill. So then should I get something very plain, cream drum like to leave the focus on the dining light and entry mirror?

I like this one but I was hoping for something bigger height wise:
