How about a picture of the whole lamp....and shade? Can't even suggest a style nor period form the bottom.

It's not a particularly distinctive lamp...Growing up there was one like that in almost everyone's living room.
Does the center part hold a mogul base bulb? Or a regular base? That might help date it.

it holds a regular base bulb. It also looks as if it had a metal reflector shade or a metal riser on it

Likely late 1940's to early 50's.
