There's a bud! And really long spur(?)

My husband brought home a sorry looking plant - made even sorrier from the hours he left it in a hot vehicle this summer. First impulse was throw it out. And from what research I've done this weekend trying to figure out what it is (now that it's budding!) my extreme re-potting should have finished it. So determined little plant!

I ripped dead leaves off, cut away manky roots/ lowered it into a new pot and put it in a back bedroom/west facing and cooler. Watered sparingly. IT HAS A BUD! Now looking for care instructions, going forward. He said he thought it was a "christmas orchid" after I spent 2 days looking for plants with bud and long spur like this has developed. Angraecum family perhaps? Not trying to name it...just identify it enough to know how to care for it!

'Christmas orchid' is pretty general. Can you post a pic or describe the leaf/growth habit in more detail? Is it multi-lead, does it grow up from one main stem, are there opposing leafs on each side, etc... We need this type of info or pics to determine type.

There doesn't seem to be any scent. Here's another view with how few leaves it has left. 2 or 3 new ones are coming in. (There's another pot behind it with different variety/ never bloomed yet/ might be giving impression of more leaves in above angles.)

It does appear to be Angraecum sesquipedale. Angraecum didieri would have a broader lip.

You did a really good job!

It is a Angraecum. It is a Christmas bloomer. Check it out at night and you will find a beautiful perfume. It is a night fragrance.
