TV area is too cluttered. Remove all the low pieces on the floor to each side of it. The TV should hang about 5" above the furniture. You won't need anything else there once it is properly lowered. You can add interest, color and pattern with updated drapes instead of the old fashioned swag and sheers. If you need to make the room appear larger, use drapes that match the wall color. The area rug appears to be too small. It should slip under the front 1/3 of the big sofa and extend past the ends of it by a foot or more. Find a piece of art you love that is no wider than 75% of the sofa's width. Hang it 5" above the sofa back. Have we seen all 4 walls o this room?

Thank you.... i just put the stuff on the console. I’m have boxes all over and I didn’t want to take pictures of the mess. My main concern is the wall over the sofa and table . I’ll take a picture

I’m looking to do 1 section at a time . Everything can be replaced except the counter chairs and living room set nd table . Thank you so much

Yes rug too small, tv too high. Add a color lamp to end table.

Arrange sect/couch in front of window not at an angle. Art no bigger than couch with anything that you love. Add pillows with art's colors.

Thank you.. I will take a better picture tomorrow and post.

Get rid of the swag, and take fuller drapes to the ceiling. Paint the fan to disappear into the ceiling colour. Get a large enough rug so that all seating pieces are (at least) partially on it. End tables and lamps will help, as will large art or a gallery wall.

You can find art pieces on many online sites, one of those is Etsy.com - available there are prints, photographs, posters, as well as original paintings.

You could also pick some colors from artwork for a few throw pillows for sofa and love seat. Velvet works well with leather.

Piece I used below is from icanvas.com.

Art is a very personal choice, this is just one idea/one view, If you like this piece, I can give you the specifics. Velvet pillows I included in visual are from Ballard Designs.

    Hi I M,

Here is the link for the art piece I used. It comes in a variety of sizes, types. You can measure to see what size works best for your space, use my visual as a guide. As far as type: For the look/effect, as it shows in visual of your room - either the plain canvas or framed canvas options could work - whichever you prefer.

Also, I M - just to add, since I didn't make any suggestions about a new rug, and I'm not sure you need a new one.

If you shift the rug you have to horizontal position, it may frame your furniture better - or even just shift it a bit in the current position, and see how that works. Your rug looks good, and you are the best judge of how it fits/works in your space. In one school of thought, it is recommended that at least front legs of sofa/furniture should sit on top of rug; but that is not a hard and fast rule - not at all. Depends on the space, style, etc. Also, it looks like you have a nice floor, and you don't need to cover it all with a rug. So try to reposition your rug a bit, and see how you like it - before you make a major rug purchase (unless you just want a new rug, of course). I like your ceiling fan, also, btw - nice style on that.

Hope some of this helps. :)

Hi guys I’m back .. so I purchased the art . Now I need something for the corner . I thought maybe a tall floor plant . I also need a lamp and I was thinking 2 wall sconces 1 to the left and 1 right of the sofa . What about a mirror over the table to the right ?

pic is too small. If it had a frame, it would work.

that chest in the right corner really shouldn't be there. it's throwing off the proportion for a picture on the wall. you need two end tables. the one you have between the couches is a bit small. You have large, bulky sofas. you need a larger table so it doesn't look dwarfed.

look at the size of these tables. they balance out this larger sofa (notice the framed picture on the wall. that's the size you need)

look at these photos (not the decor,,just the placement of the items)

see how balanced this one sofa is with the tables and lamps on either end? you don't need this many pictures, but if you're going small, then do a grouping like they've done here.

another example of the tables on either end and grouping.

if you had one larger picture it would also work.

so, see if you can move the chest elsewhere or rearrange the furniture.

see how this table w/a tall lamp fits better between the two sofas?

I like the art, but like the rest said larger is better or a grouping of 2 or 3 pieces. Happy to see the couches squared up! have you considered removing the valance from the window? looking good!
