I only have one C hosta. Coal Miner, I purchased the plant end of 2015 and it has been slow to grow. I like the dark dusty looking leaves and upright form. Last year the hosta did look nice so I am hoping 2018 the plant will take a jump.

Maybe I'll have something to contribute next year...enjoying everyone's pics in the meanwhile :) Can't help but think though, you guys are a bunch of enablers!! LOL (I have no more room for hostas...and yet I'm writing names down as I go through these pics...sigh)

my only C hosta of those posted is Clausa..lots of them are new to me..thanks to all of you that shared pics from your Captivating Collections..like Pampered Peeps I'm collecting names..has anyone ever considered planting hostas in alphabetical order?..could help with remembering names..an A bed, B bed etc..lol..

I had clausa, but gave them to my neighbor - she has a sizable shady, moist-ish area that needed ground cover... I'll be replacing them with venusta, which is more like what I had in mind for a border.

I have Celtic Uplands, but don't think I took a picture (unless I mislabeled something)... and I have Cathedral Windows -- here's a picture of her before she turned crispy from the sun. This one definitely survives full sun and has grown like a weed... but I think it would look better in more shade, so this year I might divide and move at least part of it....

Coconut Custard — making a comeback from a vicious vole attack.

California Gold Rush — very slow, this Hosta should be given to young couples for their first house warming. Their grandchildren will marvel at it.

Carolina Keepsake — convention Hosta from 2014 Dixie Regional. A Bob Solberg introduction. About halfway through the growing season I noticed it was planted too deep. Seems to be fairly slug resistant. Gets greener but never dark.

Chantilly Lace — a very pretty blue green.

Cranberry Wine

Crocodile Rock — one of the most interesting shaped hostas I own.

I was worried, Paula, and kept watching for the C's to start! Best wishes in your recovery.

No C's here. Well, I had one - Cherry Berry - but that sucker was consumed by suicidal thoughts the entire three years I had it. I dug it up last summer and passed it to a friend whose green thumbs go clear up to her elbows. I'm anxious to hear if she was able to keep it over the winter. Some of you have WONDERFUL Cherry Berries!

Littlebug thanks for the comment on Cherry Berry, I took it off my very long wish list. I prefer easier to grow hostas since there are so any choices.

Shadow, your Cherry Berry reminds me of the Lakeside Cupcake I added last spring. Can't begin to tell you how bad it looked after two months in my garden, I had to transplant it. Just hoping both these hosta look great next season.

Took me a while to nail the identity of this but I finally figured it out:

'Cat's Eyes'

We've seen a few pictures of clausa var. clausa but how about something slightly different: clausa var. normalis. We've all heard how rhizomatous this species can be but there's nothing like a couple of pictures to illustrate that;

Above picture is from late February a few years ago and you can see shoots coming out of the drainage holes!

This is what I discovered when transplanting one :)
