We bought a house that has a range hood that is not ducted and below cabinet attached to our microwave. We want to install vented hood and have shortlisted a BEST range hood with 1200 CFM ( we cook Indian food so need a powerful blower) . My cooktop range is 30 inches and since i have cabinets around it i can do a 30 inch range hood. I understand from all the posts here I will probably need a ducting of 10 inch and also install a make up filter. The range hood is very close to a window ( less than 5 ft) and the ducting would go through the cabinets. I live in Montgomery County , Maryland and so many contractors I have talked to don’t understand MUA in connection with this range hood. My question is should a kitchen remodeling company be able to help me with all aspects or do i Coordinate First with an HVAC person. Anybody who may have done this in the DC area please let me know if suggested contractors who can help us with this project! Thanks in advance !
