Cleaning Drywall Dust on Floor (Vinyl) - Help Would Be So Appreciated

last modified: 8 years ago

Hi all,

I am in the process on renovating my basement and, despite initial attempts by my contractor to vacuum the drywall dust off the newly installed vinyl flooring, there is still a pretty substantial layer of drywall dust. I have read a ton of articles on how to remove it, but I find many say different things (some say vacuum first, others say dry mop first or even sweep first, etc.). I was hoping to get some advice on:

(1) how best to remove it from the floor?

(2) when vacuuming (I have a shop vac and dust filter) which attachment should I use?

(3) how do I remove the drywall dust from my floor tiles?

(4) there is still some dust on the walls and my vacuum is one that has a back air release valve thing so how do I prevent the air release valve from just pushing more dust around?

Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!
