Okay, I'm jealous... We've been dipping into the teens consistently since the beginning of the year.

Stuie-not Stewie, What, no pictures?

I'm in SW Florida. It went into the low 40s last week. I can't pull my plants inside -- nowhere to bring them. They live permanently on my lanai. But I did notice recently....I have a Sans Nitida that has never really done well, just limped along not doing anything....but three weeks ago I saw a new leaf emerging from the soil mix, and then last week, a flower showed it head. Two days ago, I saw the tip of another new leaf emerging. What's going on??? I thought Sans loved warm weather....and maybe they do. But this particular one seems to be growing its best in cooler temps. Gotta' just sit back and enjoy it, I guess. They have a mind of their own.

Robinswfl, Sans grow so very slowly at first. Only well established ones can you notice any growth. It did it's growing months ago and was below the soil trying to break out. Cover them at night with old blankets (not plastic). One most plants, the bud starts to form almost a year ahead of time inside the plant.

Sorry, Stush, no photos. My phone must have the flu -- won't take a picture when I want, then seems to take pictures completely on it own. Yikes--dangerous! I need to find someone to help me fix the darn thing. But -- thank you for the information above. For all the Sans I have, I didn't know that. I'm happy to learn that "activity" is taking place under the soil when I'm tempted to think the plant is just languishing there doing nothing. My Sans seem to be VERRRRY slow growers....although I'm happy to report that yet another Sans, part of a huge Masoniana that was divided back in the summer, is now forcing a new leave above the soil too. Its head showed about 5 days ago, and now I can see about 1.5" of a new leaf. Yay -- activity below the soil! Stush, thank you for being such a good source of information, especially about Sans. I always read your posts.
