- thx, yeah I have thought of this too. I could take the remaining leaves however my baby efforts have not resulted in life. That leaves me leaving it alone and giving it the best environment to recoup.

This plant looks like it was grown in a greenhouse - and when it got to your place it would be sick from change of conditions.

With time - you will get an experience and you will be able to grow plant out of the quarter of a leaf, but right now - wait till spring and buy less plants but from a better source - even it will cost you more per plant.

Irna_co Thank you. Should I tent them for a while when they arrive for the change of environment that I have here. What helps the adjustment? They did come from Florida and I live in Southern Va.

Cheryl - you grow your plants inside - and your humidity and temperature and light level is different than the place these AVs were raised. Yes - your intuition is correct - tenting is a good idea. You will raise the humidity and it will help them recover.

I think Cheryl asks all the right questions. You cannot become an expert overnight - there is something about really implementing all these ideas and seeing how the plants respond... There is no escape - you need to kill our portion of plants - we all did - but I think at this point the stronger plants will survive and flourish. What will happen to the Rose Bouquet - it can go both ways, IMHO it is not a windowsill plant, It is so darn variegated - it only ha 1/3 of the vitality of a regular green one

It is a sad, oddly shaped plant that I am afraid to continue to torture. It leaves are huge and fibrous but it has survived this far. Oh, I have one more limp possible broken leaf, I’ve been watching. Hesitant to take it as I know it needs the photosynthesis from every source. At this point of limpness, I guess it’s not much.

It is a shame that we as humans have this nurturing gene that really clouds our minds at times.

IMHO, this plant can still make it. If it were mine and I really needed it to survive, I would re-examine the "everything", (soil suitability, moisture content and light needs) tent it up a bit and place it into an area that has good light at least 8 or 10 hours a day. See what happens.

If after having made this last level of investment and after more than adequate time has elapsed, I still had a barely surviving plant; I might would spend the $10 or so and get a new, healthy plant to spend my time on.

All this goes out the window of course if for example, this is the last known decendent of the only plant ever given me by my deceased mother. There is an exception to every rule!

- hahaha - Jeff ,u r a riot and of coarse probably right. The thoughts of my unreasonableness is probably quite true and I will spend the $10 or wait til Round Robin at last resort however to support my insanity is the learning phase. It is green, still green. I must learn how to assist or if it prefers to leave it alone. By the way I found roots on some of the leaves I planted off of it. - hehehehehe,( so happy for success ). Plus, I like the amusement of picking ur brain. : ))

Plus, it is my 1st Rose Bouquet. I searched hard for it. I do love what it could be and will be able to tell the story, if it survives me, of how I almost lost it and Irna_co, Rosie1949, n Jeff Zenner swooped in to save the day.
