Looks more like a cane dracena crossed with a agave. Too large for me. It is a lovely plant. Love the variegated form.

Robdb8, is there supposed to be a pic attached? I have grown S. downsii for a couple of decades but none of mine have grown out of a 4" pot. They've remained a basic rosette of several smooth cylindrical, pointed leaves, offsetting on a very short stalk.

Thanks Robdb8, that's an impressive sans in your pic. I've never seen a downsii that big... massive rosette and so many leaves. The individual leaves do look like the species, did the caption on the pic indicate this was downsii?
