That reminds me of photos I've seen of plants exposed to cold. Did it experience any cold? The other question, is there a drain hole in that pot and does the potting soil drain fast? They're the first things that come to mind when looking at that photo.

Actually, it was placed in a suite that was running quite warm actually. Also, there is no drain hole.

It will not survive without proper drainage. Transplant it into a pot with a drainage hole. You can then place it in a decorative pot making sure to empty the excess water from the outer pot every time you water.

That's correct, it's not a water plant but rather the opposite, they often grow on other trees as an epiphyte. Although the roots like to be kept moist they will rot if kept too wet.
