Could you use a desk there for a little home office?

This is a better view of what is behind the sofa. Thanks

This is the table I now have under the T.V.

Maybe just a rug.

Love the idea of a little desk behind sofa. Another suggestion? Put one chair on each side of the ottoman/coffee table so that your whole sofa can move closer to the tv. Then it won't be as close to that tall bistro set or in the French doors/walkway. The sofa would also maybe sit more on the rug and you may feel less like u need something behind it? Lovely room and fabrics etc. You are almost there :)

I just looked at ur photos again and see u have a chaise end so moving the chairs won't work well with ur layout. Could u still scoot your sofa closer to the tv or no?

I believe this is by Stickley and comes
In a few styles. They call it a gathering Island.

There is more room back there than I thought. A bench?

Thanks Mimi,
I just moved the sofa further back to see if I could get away without something behind it. You are right, it needs to be closer to the T.V. But then there is about 6 feet between the bistro table and the back of the sofa.

I would suggest perhaps a low, long bookcase or a long side table.

Here's a sketch I created, bookshelves could definitely add an interesting design aspect to a space!

Do you actually use the bistro table? If you do, move it to the middle of the space behind the sofa rather than shoving it to the edge of the room. Or use the space for a game table w/4 chairs which can also be used for puzzles etc...

You could put an acrylic table behind sofa with two small zebra ottomans and put potted orchids on table.

The bookcase or ottoman idea both sound great. But I also like the acrylic idea for more open feel. So much super inspiration!

We just love your home. You can fill the space with an ottoman. The perfect ottoman for your living room furniture will match with the rest of the room.

I don't understand the bistro table in this area. Of course, I don't really understand how they ever became popular for the home anyway, unless there's a man cave/bar somewhere.

The bistro table and stools are cranks. We raise them up so that the grandkids can watch T.V. when they have lunch and want to watch a program, and we lower it to play a game of Scrabble, or play a board game.

Nothing but a really great vintage Persian runner.

Well, that's handy!

Grover, you put my original comment of "maybe just a rug" to shame. Two thumbs up for the perfect visual.

Oh yes. That runner is a terribly good idea! Really just pulls it all together without crowding...❤️✨it!

Consider moving the table from under the tv to behind the sofa, then build a big bookcase on the tv wall. I find the tv wall big and bland. It begs for presence

We like the idea of just a rug. It's simple, yet does a lot to the space.
