I use Pro-Mix BX with biofungicide and mycorrhizae. I can get it locally for about $38 for the 3.8 cu/ft compressed bail which is 60 lbs. I use it to start seeds and to pot up seedlings prior to transplant.

I've been using Jiffy. The product that DID NOT say organic, which I can't find anywhere on line. Maybe it's been replaced with "Natural and Organic". I used that last year and found it prone to getting green "moss" or mold. Worley's Nursery (Owasso, Claremore, Skiatook), has a potting mix I buy to pot up seedlings. It is their own mix, and is more expensive than Walmart brands, but less expensive than Pro Mix or other premium brands. I may see if they have a seed starting medium. I'm guessing, though, they may use this mix for evey thing. I have heard bad things about Miracle grow.

I just use whatever sterile soil-less seed-starting mix is available in the stores. Usually it is Jiffy, but sometimes there are other brands. I'm not picky about the mix I start seeds in as long as it is a mix formulated especially for starting seeds. The plants don't stay in the starter mix long as I pot them up into a higher quality mix as they grow. I'd use Pro-Mix if I could find it locally, which I never have. Sometimes I buy it down at one of the local nurseries in the D-FW metro, though I haven't done that in a couple of years now, I guess. I used to always mix up all my own soil-less mixes but decided it really wasn't worth the extra effort because there are so many good quality mixes available nowadays.

I've always used Miracle Gro with no issues.
