Shower head for a tall man in a tiny shower?

Hi -- We are putting a very small shower in our half bath, mostly for me, but we would like my husband to be able to use it in a pinch. He's 6'6", and we are planning to use this 30"x34"x72" shower frame: https://www.houzz.com/products/dreamline-unidoor-x-30375w-x-34d-x-72h-frameless-shower-enclosure-chrome-prvw-vr~95675000 Considering that his head is going to be above the shower walls by 6", is there any way to set up the shower head so that he doesn't have to duck? Would a rain shower head set at 7' splash out of the enclosure? What if we tiled up to the ceiling? Or should I just let this go? Thanks for any advice!

I don't recommend a rain head as the only head in a shower. The water flow can be disappointing when showering, especially when rinsing soap and shampooing.

I'd recommend using a hand held on a vertical slide bar. It can be adjusted to his height or yours.

Yes, tile the walls to the ceiling, or close to it.

Minor point, but how high his head will be above the glass is also a function of how high the curb is, as he'll be standing on the sloped floor and the 72" high glass will be on top of the curb.

With small showers, you can usually learn to adjust to the limitations. However, even for yourself, if you haven't truly considered just how small that space is...do a mock up and check out your elbow room.

No matter what height you set the shower head at, water will splash out because it will be bouncing off of husband's head, shoulders, and arms. The options I see are:

a) Hubby ducks below the edge of the door in a pinch (my man would hate that)

b) You choose a taller shower stall

c) Hubby gets really awesome at wiping up the floor when he's done showering

Oh, another thing to consider is his wingspan. Will he be bashing his elbows on the walls?

He won't even be able to turn around in that shower. We had a 36" shower enclosure and my 6'2" husband could barely move without smashing his elbows.

You could set a regular shower head up high and tile up to the ceiling. It looks like it will be a tight squeeze but it doesn't sound like he will be using it too much.

I like the idea of the height of the curb as MongoCT mentioned. Could that be raised to help accommodate his height? Do not use a rain shower head unless you plan to always shampoo your hair at each use. Having the adjustable shower head would be ideal.

Also it depends on how careful your husband is generally and the structure of his overall build as well. I would definately tile up to & maybe including the ceiling.

The other reason I recommend the handheld?

I'm 6'4". My in-laws have a small (30" square) shower in a seldom-used guest bathroom. It does have a handheld, and the few times I've used that I'll take the handheld off the bracket to wet and rinse my body. It's easier, faster, and more effective to put the water exactly where I want it with the handheld than trying to maneuver into the spray.

Thank you all so much for the ideas and feedback! It'll definitely be a tight squeeze, but having a second shower is worth it for us and that's the space we have available. Thanks very much to @MongoCT for the suggestion from experience! I will go with a handheld, tile up to the ceiling, and try to get the curb as high as possible. I'm glad someone tall has used something similar successfully!
