Some winter growth!

My Mathilde finally sprouted some new leaves! I'm so happy. Up until now all she did was getting yellow leaves and loosing them... this the first time I see new growth on her!

I was getting worried about her, but this gives me hope :)

My trusty Carnosa keeps getting new leaves every time I turn to look at her. Such a great plant. Only one vine keeps being difficult brat, but the rest works hard.

And then there's a not-hoya I'm really happy about!

Cuttings of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana I took in the late summer and gave to my sister are blooming :D I'm currently plant-sitting them while she's away; too bad she's missing it.

And the bad news I left for the end is that Lisa gave up and died...

Congrats! All so pretty. My only active grower is ilagiorum. It's become one of my top favorites. So easy to grow. No yellowing or dropping of leaves like I get with some other Hoyas. My carnosa can be stubborn that way, as well. Usually around Feb.-March, she'll start to grow some new vines. Both plants are right beside me. Hoping for blooms this spring and summer!

For me only this one carnosa keeps behaving herself. Well, carnosas, since I have about five cuttings in one pot, but they came from one plant. The mother plant is about 30 years old I think, and always grew on heated windowsill, so I'm wondering, maybe that's my carnosa takes winter on my heated windowsill so well?

I'd love my little tricolor carnosa to behave like that too, but alas, seems like she's hibernating.

I also bought new much smaller pot for Mathilde, but I'm hestitant to repot her now. Should I wait for spring? She seems to be sensitive and reacts to everything with yellow leaves...

I think there won't be any Hoya blooms for me this summer. Too early for that. I have hope for some cacti though... and if not, I'll just admire photos :)

We don't have enough winter sun in Michigan, so I supplement with plant lights. I have them on timers and they add some nice light during otherwise gloomy dark evenings. My hoyas love it, and I still get winter growth. There are lots of different types on Amazon.

Sorry to hear about your Lisa. I'm getting winter growth as well but I stuck my hoyas in my growtent and they seem to love it.

Kalanchoe is going crazy, and there are still some unopened buds on it :)

Mathilde is being both great and super annoying. It produces another set of leaves and is actively trying to get rid of one of it's vines.

... and just this morning I again found mealybugs on it. Damn pests, I thought I got rid of them. I'm afraid to use alcohol after what happened to Lisa and general Mathilde-ness (kinda fussy) but after their reaction to alcohol I'm also afraid to use some pesticide...
