The mites are back not as bad but back even with a weekly dose of bio oil it has kept the numbers down .so round 2000000 ding ding i ordered some predatory mites

its on im sending in the rambo of bugs these eat the mites eggs right through to adults they will actively go from plant to plant in search of mites.This all started about 5yrs ago with an order from Melbourne 6 DR from eBay the plants were infected at the time i had never had spider mites so i didn't find them before they had spread to my mature plants. this is my last throw i have tried some of the harshest chemicals now bugs to eat bugs to anyone buying live plants quarantine your new plants for a couple of weeks i have spent hundreds of dollars to control these pests :×(

Peter,

I have used the Persimilis and the Fallacis. They sure did the trick for me. I am sure that I will be venturing down this road again, as they are persistent.

I hope that you receive the same favorable results.

They say to plant "Beans in a pot" close or within, as the Spider mites will host most times on the Bean Leaves and it also lets you know in advance as to whether the mite numbers are high. The signs on the Bean Leaves is a warning that they are there. I do this with mine now in hopes of early detection.

I cannot rid myself of all the aphids. I have a great spray that works, but I kill one visible group, only to see another the next day.

The best way to rid these in small collections is frequent spraying to remove new adults. You have to work with their life cycle, just like lice or fleas!

You will see them the next day because you can't get rid of them all with just one treatment. Aphids start producing hundreds of babies sexually within a short period of time of hatching.

Mites are arachnids. Have you tried a permethrin spray? I use nix (human lice shampoo) diluted with water. You can also buy dog dip with permethrin as the only active ingredient. They work great for arachnids but it'll kill your beneficial spiders and mites so that ship may have sailed for OP lol

Hi lat over the years i have tried permethrin based products im pretty regular with my pest treatments in the past i would wipe the affected plants leaves down with iso alcohol but when u have about 500 plants in all stages its hard so im going to give them another round of bugs in a couple of weeks to enhance the good bugs breading cycle:×)

Lol, I had a feeling you'd have so many plants. It makes infestations soooo difficult to deal with. I look forward to hearing how the predatory mites work out. A few years ago I bought some mantid oothicae and it worked wonderfully. I even saw a nymph on my squash plant last summer so I guess they have some staying power!

Jody i dont know im noticing more spider mites but I've been told they take about two weeks to start over powering the spiders im not very patient with these bugs I'm hoping the good bugs are feasting on the eggs and babies:×)

Peter, when the mites get bad, I get worst - I spray with Bio-oil 3 days a week, if they still there, I increse the concentration. They wont be happy campers.

Thanks Agartta i rang bugs for bugs they said to run the Bio oil in conjunction with the Attack of the good bugs .they said it will not hurt the good bugs .i also rang the bio oil company they told me to use neam oil as it only affects sap suckers. I havent given up :×)

Yea about two weeks ago the spider mites started to over whelm them so i treated them with bio oil . the spider mites have thinned out again maybe the good bugs may have a chance now .im going to thin my stocks out next summer down to about 50 or so if i cannot get rid of them.
