Have you used ever used : All safe and very effective. I have NO issues with mites ever anymore. Use to have them every year. And, for prevention, do you spray them before they come in and spray them all summer with Fish Emulsion in particular 'Neptune's Harvest'?

What does the first link have to do with anything? It comes up as echinopsis, a cactus plant. I sprayed them when I noticed there were mites on it. Never used fish emulsion for it though. So wait, you are recommending me fish emulsion or the safer brand ready to use houseplant insect killing soap from walmart?

Actually I think red spider mite are very very easy to irradiate. I spray them with a 1% horticultural oil spray.

If you can see them clearly, then they are not spider mites. Spider mites are minute.....1 mm or less in size. They look like a speck of dust or the tip of a pencil lead.

Mites are not insects and do not respond well to any insecticides. You need a dedicated miticide (like neem oil) to control or make the living conditions inhospitable, usually by bumping up the humidity. Hort oils can work but not quite as effective as a miticide.

So then maybe they are beneficial mites? I will try out some options but I do provide good humidity. Like I said I have a humidifier blasting in my room for the plants and give them an additional spray of water everyday. They don't seem to work though

Mites will smother as long as you consistently keep up with it. I have used any method 3 weeks in a row every third day. works for me.

Do you have a very cool room? That also works.

Mites flourish in Puerto Rico and that is the most humid place I know of.

I have used both 2 % neem oil and Safers soap and neem oil seems to work better. I alternate the spraying. I also periodically spray with water using a pump sprayer.

Does anyone know how often to treat for mites once you have an infestation? Weekly until infestation is gone?
