It could use some color. Either wallpaint or paintings. What to choose depends on the style in your home. The entry is the first thing that you see and needs to blend in somewhat with the rest of the house. But since you don't sit in it all day (or do you?) you could add some bold items.

There is a lot of "architecture" going on...Please add a really beautiful and attention grabbing chandelier low enough to be seen and enjoyed (more knowledgeable people than I will recommend the correct height); also a a bench and a table and yes some art work too. Remove standing floor lamps,which are probably temporary I hope.
