Sulfur is sulfur.......it really makes no difference what the brand name is. Any horticultural sulfur product will serve to lower pH.

that's pretty much what i was thinking but i appreciate your help. ill just go with the cheapest option per plant. Would it be too soon to start at the end of the month ? They say it takes 60 days.

I do it year around on the one hydrangea whose bloom I want to alter. Otherwise I always do it in the Spring around all the others... and optionally again in the Fall if there are signs of iron chlorosis.

I use whatever product is available... garden sulphur, greensand, aluminum sulfate, iron-chelated liquids, even vinegar...

But make sure it is an amendment, not a fertilizer with sulfur added. You do not want to be fertilizing every 60 days.

That is my confusion.. the word fertilizer is being used and I didnt think either were actual fertilizer. The Espoma says it is a fertilizer and even has instructions to use as a fertilizer, but does not show an NPK ratio. Are either of the two i have listed actual fertilizers or is it safe to use 60 days as instructed on the company website ?

Espoma is the company name. Their amendment is called Organic Soil Acidifier. Should have a npk table on the side of the package, probably 0-0-0. Reapply every 60 days. The other Espoma products could be fertilizers.

Encap Sulfur Fast Acting is an amendment. The Guaranteed Analysis table has no n/p/k ingredients listed so it would be 0-0-0. I could not find instructions for using/applying Encap. Ck or call/email the company (or buy a product from a competitor that has better instructions).
