tiniest studio, help!

I am not a fan of the bed so close to the kitchen but I am at a loss of where to place it instead. Where else would you put it?

    Congratulations on your studio!

It looks like your only windows are at the front, so that makes sense for the bedroom to be open.

A Murphy bed, though expensive to install, would give you the option to hide the bed, but i would keep it in the current location. A Murphy wall unit could also give you a lot more storage, especially above the bed.

My rental apartment in Paris has an awesome Murphy bed that can be adjusted as it is raised and lowered -- to be a sofa or a lounger.

That is huge for a studio and I agree a murphy bed will make it work much better or a really good sofa bed I guess .

Only change I would make would be to reverse the desk chair to the other side so I could see out the window and not have the light from the window on my computer screen. The chair can then be used for dressing too...putting on socks and such.

Just think, in the middle of the night when you get hungry, you don’t have to go far to get something to eat. Seriously, what is your problem with having the bed close to the kitchen?

When I first moved to this city I lived in a 300 sf studio. Your place looks twice as big! Lovely, and I think the layout pictured is perfect.

Both DD's live in 300 sq foot studios. They would love to have your amount of space! Oldest has a sleeping alcove which has a folding door and youngest has a sofa bed.

That said, when oldest had her first studio she prominently placed the bed in the middle of the room. I asked how she felt about this for when she had company. She said that when she did have a bedroom when she shared an apartment, her friends came into her bedroom anyway!

Make sure the bed is made when you have company over and you are good to go.

I agree that you should keep the bed where it is. If it's in the budget I think Murphy bed suggestion would be ideal. Also if the computer desk could fold up against the wall you could really open up a large entertaining space between the living room and bedroom.

If it's not in the budget I like the suggestion of a curtain to screen off the bedroom when entertaining. I would use very full but sheer fabric and have a rod made from pipe with elbow joints to project it out enough beyond the end of the bed.

It's a great studio apartment, congratulations!

Thank you all so much! I love to cook so my fear is my bed will smell. I tend to cook Filipino dishes which are very aromatic. But if the designers say it is so then it must be so!

It wouldnt hurt to try to turn the bed and see if the headboard would fit against the bathroom wall. It might mean getting rid of a nightstand. If it fits and you can still reach the closet, maybe you could hang some panel curtains or place a room divider to keep it semi closed off. It’s a great looking apt.

Going by the depth of the countertops of 25" it looks as though the bed is drawn much larger than it is, and not to scale. Would it fit in the dining area and have the dining area where the bed is? Is this a rental or do you own it? Would you know how many sf. it is? It's a very nice space. If you own or plan to be there for a while, you can put up a temporary wall with open transoms on top for ventilation and a pocket door. The bed would have to be turned the other way.

I also notice that the picture has a notice that layouts may vary - so you need to post the actual apartment to get good feedback.
