There are a couple of things that I see. My first question is whether there might be a better wall for the bed. Can you put it on the wall with the two pictures? If it has to stay where it is, I would remove the vertical blinds and replace them with a wooden blind (either white or a wood color). Your curtain rod is too thin. I would look for something that is at least 1" in diameter. It would also help if you raised the rod to just below the ceiling and got longer curtains that went to 1/2" above the floor-the ones you have now are a bit short. I can't see your bedding so I don't know how it relates to the rest of the room as far as color. What I see now seems to be a bit mismatched. The other issue is that your side table is too tall and too small for the bed. It would help if you could find something that has drawers for storage and to help hide the cord. It shouldn't be any taller than the top of your mattress. Can you possibly make up the bed and post more pictures of the entire space in natural light to help us get an idea of the true colors in the room?

Is it just those 2 walls you're concerned about? Your side tables are a bit too delicate and tall. Add a few more panels to your window coverings to beef them up. The art seems lost on the wall, so something bigger would be best. Also, from what I can see of your bedspread/comforter/duvet cover, it seems a bit dull. Perhaps something with a bit of colour?

I agree with all of the above.

It's all about scale and proportion. The headboard is very masculine and blocky while the side table and lamp are very light and delicate. The vertical blinds are heavy and dated while the side curtains and rod are too light and unsubstantial. The blank wall is large while the pictures are small. Can't really see what else is in the room, but whatever the room looks like, it always looks better with the bed made and the slippers put away.

If there's any way you can place the headboard on the large blank wall and unblock the window, it will go a long way to brightening and cheering up the room.

in adjusting the curtains, I would suggest widening the curtain rod and adding curtains to the sides past the edge of the bed. This will make the window look wider and give you a backdrop for the headboard.
