Could be seeds from different seedpods but the same cross?

I have no idea. They are floating for about a week now but no signs of germination yet...

In my opinion it is possible that there are different seed shapes from one seedpot. The shape looks like pure bukasovii seeds (the ones which arent round). Germination in water can take up to 3 weeks depends on the seeds and their age, if they are fresh or not.

I regularly obtain very differently shaped seeds from one seed pod. It is just a phenomenon due to slighlty different growth of the seeds and a competition resulting in an inequal sharing of the residual-space. There is generally some seeds present, the shape of which is not even flat - the papery layer densely wrapped around the grain and giving a more globular appearance to the seed.

On this occasion: Attention! Everybody who had crosspollinated H.papilio or DIPloid hybrids thereof, from TETraploid pollen donors might be very aware of these piles of dozens of seeds with white spots on them, which seeds are not viable. There is a conspicious higher likelihood of discovering an intact seed, namely among these more globular seeds.

pock-marked seeds! I have to say that I never really noticed differences in the shape of the seeds other than that some are much larger than other. I will take

the time to notice from now on!! :-))

I have currently high amounts of seeds to come, from "Ambiance" pollinated from "Flamenco Queen", and from "Flamenco Queen" pollinated from various pollen donors. If I feel the Motivation, I will separate the seeds into main Groups which I personally distinguish: "Round", "oval" ,"half moon" (these three groups are shown above) and additionally "Rhomboid shaped" and "wrapped" (globular).

Thank you! I still think that they may be from different pods of the same cross because they are also different in color but they look all very good, no signs of white spots or other defects. The half moon is actually an oval where some of the papery layer broke off during transport :-)

I'll patiently wait for germination now...
