Cumin

I searched and found all kinds of references to cumin. Unfortunately everything I looked at was recipe related rather than about how to grow it!

Anyone tried growing it here in Oklahoma?

I tried, didn't make it past seedling stage last year. Here is an article on growing it. I will try again this year. I'm thinking it didn't like the container I put it in.

I use a lot of cumin, so am anxious to grow it this year. This the info I got from one of the herb sites:

Wow, I never thought of growing that. I eat so much of it, maybe I should!

I'm using cumin powder on my chicken right now, lol. I wonder if the "full sun" translates well to our full sun? I'd like to try it if anyone has encouraging words.

Carol--where I have my flowers and herbs I don't HAVE full sun anyplace! My lemon balm, parsley, grow like weeds with about 2-3 hours of filtered sunlight. The sage, thyme, chives, rosemary, oregano all get maye 1 1/2-2 hours of mostly full sun. Is that all you have, full sun? If so. . . all you can do is try, right? (Says it originated in the Mediterranean. I haven't yet grown it--don't know if it was Dawn or someone else who said it's an easy one.) Go for it! LOL
