Hellebore Help

last modified: 8 years ago

I am a total newbie when it comes to growing hellebores. I just put them in last year. I added 2 white varieties and one in a dusky pink (which was quite large and rather expensive). One of the white ones is doing fine. The other mysteriously disappeared. My issue is with the pink one, which I LOVED.

Here they are at home; it is a very shady spot.

Roots of the pink one

Only one leaf left!!! But that that leaf doesn't look sad, like it is rotting or anything...

It looks like one of the leaves has been snapped off, but this clearly doesn't seem to be doing super well. I am not sure if it is being eaten by critters; stepped on by my dog or what, but if you have any ideas I would love to hear! Am I just jumping the gun, should I wait? It does have some promising red buds. But I have to say based on it's one sad leaf I am pretty tempted to move it to another location. Perhaps it wants more sun?

Here it is in all its glory last year, planted in the spring.

Any tips would be much appreciated.
