Have you taped out an 8x10 on your floor with painter's tape? Do that with the tape "rug" under the front 1/3 of both sofas and extending past the ends by a foot or more. I think you'll tire of all of those rugs very quickly; especially keeping them clean. Go for some color and pattern. Houzz has a rug sale right now. Properly hung drapes would be helpful. Match them to your wall color to visually enlarge the space.

Since there is no pattern (and very little color) in your living room I would suggest a patterned, more colorful rug, and then use those colors for your accessories to pull everything together. I would also remove the tall vase and other item from each end of the under-TV console.

Do you have kids, pets or wear shoes in your house? If so, I would suggest a rug with more pattern and color.
