Sansevieria flowers are normally pollinated in the dark of the night by moths who are attracted to the flowers by the scent of the moist, sticky stigmas. The moistness signals that the stigmas are ready to be pollinated by the dry, dust-like pollen from the male anthers as the pollen will now stick to the stigma. You need to find this time for best artificial pollination. Fortunately, you will be helped to find the best time by the greatly increased fragrance of the flowers during the night. I have used tweezers to tease off stamens/anthers and dab them directly onto the stigmas. I have heard others claim success by simply, and loosely, grasping the flower stem with the hand and running it up the stem a couple times. The idea is to get the pollen on the stigma when the stigma is receptive. I wouldn't use a Q-tip- too easy for pollen to get lost in the cotton fibers. Either transfer pollen directly to stigma, or maybe try to collect pollen on the smallest of artist brushes and transfer. Have fun.
