We live in Miami and have an old banyan/ficus tree in our yard. We’ve been attaching orchids and stag horns over the last few years. And time and time again, I watch the squirrels come and tear them off, rip the bloom off the orchids or tear the entire orchid off. It’s driving us crazy. It seems like a territorial behavior.

these squirrels are already spoiled by our neighbor who leaves bowls of nuts for them and from our avocado tree that they fatten up on.

is there a friendly way we can deter them and protect our plants?
