Too many variables involved to be very precise but let me give you this example. I bought a 5 footer in 1996. In 2008 when I moved away from that property, the tree was approximately 22' tall and perhaps 18-20' wide. In other words, more or less of a full, mature size. But this is the PNW, so an almost ideal environment and planted in great soil and with all necessary attention.

Sorry......that was in the days before most of us stored pics on our computers. I don't have any photos of that garden other than a few snapshots in a box somewhere :-) It is still there and doing well but I have never stopped to photograph when I am in the area as the rest of my formerly beautiful garden has been pretty thoroughly trashed and I try to drive by quickly without looking at it :-(

Aww that’s sad having to leave a garden. I think I’d cry if I saw the tree, had it been mine.
