When our contractor was framing the entry to our kitchen, turns out when framed as a four foot opening (as planned by the architects), the stairs cut through a corner (see photo). We want to keep this entryway as big as possible to increase light to the kitchen (we are in the city and only have light on two sides). Thoughts on what to do? Would love to see photo examples of how to deal with this.
