This shower was designed as a weather barrier and all splashed water that contacted the wall was channeled back onto the shower floor. The bottom edge has a flash detail below the end of the metal to contain any water at that level. The floor sloped both ways to a linear drain (the end is just seen in the lower left of the photo.
