The Rain & The Glorious Weather

Who's excited that rain fell and is looking forward to receiving more?

Here's the rain that has fallen over the last 2 days. I used the '2-day' feature to capture all the rain that fell before midnight today and afterwards, so far, as well:

2-Day Rainfall Accumulation

It is wonderful to see some parts of western OK finally got rain in places where the last decent rainfall (at least 0.10") occurred in early October.

We had a thunderstorm here early this morning. It had thunder, lightning and a small amount of rain. It wasn't a traditional thunderstorm with heavy rainfall, but we're just glad some rain accompanied the light and the noise.

For many of us, the weather pattern change we're enjoying now brings us multiple chances of rain over the next 5 to 7 days. Hopefully the rain will keep hammering away at the drought, but we all know drought takes a while to develop and it takes a while to go away. At least with rain falling, maybe the drought conditions will stop worsening and maybe even improve a bit.

For some of you (Tulsa and other nearby areas), there is a slight chance next week of some frozen or freezing precipitation according to the NWS so keep an eye out for that. I don't know if the cold will return in time to slow down fruit or pecan trees that think Spring has arrived already.
