My mom has a bed frame like that. I put a bed skirt on it and it looks fine. When you have the bed in some position other than flat, the skirt will look a little funky. But I don’t think it matters, because the bed looks a little funky, too. Right? If the ideal “neat” bed is what you want to see the bulk of the time, just put the bed back to flat every morning. Voila!

Agree with using a dust ruffle if you want -- just over the base as if it was your box spring. You might need to get a shorter length ruffle or do some hemming or adjusting, but no reason you can't use one. The headboard would appear to be a different matter. I think you would have to attach something to the wall or have a freestanding unit (more like a table than just a headboard in that case). It might also work to use art instead of a headboard or have the bed in front of a window. I've had and liked both.

I had a dust skirt (modern, box cut) on my Sleep Number when it was only a metal frame. I got the skirt from Sleep Number and there were special pins to use to attach it to the fabric-covered platform beneath the air mattresses, to conceal the metal frame. Mine is a split-king, adjustable bed.

I now have it inside a regular kingsize bed frame, so there are nice wood supports on the sides, and a headboard. Dust skirt no longer needed as the metal doesn't show at all.
