You need the node at the base of the petiole to get a plant out of it. I kept a H. pottsii leaf going for about 5 years. It produced a mass of roots but no vine. Even outlasted the plant it fell off.

I had 2 Hoya bella leaves that fell off the plant and rooted. I put them in a small pot and now they are the happiest couple ever. Not all of us meant to grow but we still can live and have a happy life anyway.

That plant (really, it was a rooted cutting) was sent to you almost three years ago! The mother plant gave up shortly after you received the rooted cutting off it. I dont know what that plant wanted. I love the look of them but must restrain myself from getting any of these while living in my climate!

Laticauda- really 3 years ago- wow I knew I had it for awhile but- I even had the full cutting for most of the summer of the year you sent it. It would seam that the node did not make it. But I can still hope!

I think it looks cute anyway. I'd keep it going. Remember the story Leo the Late Bloomer?
