Steam showers require highly experienced tile setters. Bad move asking on a public forum about the tile being acceptable. You are placing thousands of your dollars at risk on random opinions when the only source with the correct answer is the manufacturer.

Thanks for your concern, although it veers into implying that I'm a moron. I'm in the initial stages of conceiving the project, and wanted some sense of possibilities as I encounter materials I like. My architect, contractor, and tile sub will prevent me from making catastrophic errors.

BB, you are not a moron, and we doubt Creative would suggest that. Just understand that there have been a LOT of dilemmas on this forum related to the problems that people have had with tile installations, especially showers. In most cases the homeowners did not have the trusted professionals on the project that you obviously have. And Creative is correct, the manufacturer and industry standards, as well as your trusted contractors, should be your guide regarding the tile selection appropriate for a steam shower. Make sure the tile is rated for this application.

It was intended as a warning and to steer you in the proper direction away from risk. We see scenarios daily of folks being taken advantage of by their contractors who were highly recommended with great references and build million dollar homes etc. Then come to this forum and receive bad advice on top of it. I’m confused. Creative Tile Easter CT and Dragonfly Tile & Stone Works, it says you are pros next to your name…What’s your professional opinion. Obviously folks should ultimately consult their own pros, but can you give us your quick thoughts on here?
