The outlines of the blocks making the steps are the focus. Neutralize them and all the foundation with a single color. How about reworking the front to be more like this - you're so close already?!? It is mostly a matter of paint which is cheap. Maybe some shingles to do the gable ends.

what about the stairs and the lattice? Are you considering painting that as well?

I would put in wood door, wood steps and wood rails (think Mission style). I would paint all trim, lattice and brick gray. Hang a flower basket on each side of steps. Add some colorful plantings
